How to edit a challenge

The United Heroes team has set up a challenge in your United Heroes space: once it's created, you can still edit certain elements directly from your admin space, without needing to go through a member of our team.

This article explains where to find the edit screen, what you can edit yourself, what remains managed by your CSM, and how to run an automatic translation of your content.

πŸ“Œ Key takeaways
βœ… You edit a challenge from its detail page, via the Edit button
βœ… The content (visuals, title, description, objectives) is editable by you
βœ… The dates, the segmentation, the promotion and the challenge conditions are set by the United Heroes team
βœ… You can translate your content manually or via automatic translation

πŸ” Where to find the edit screen

Go to the Challenges menu in your Admin space, then click on the reference of the challenge you want to edit. A summary page is displayed, with a preview of the challenge and an Edit button at the bottom right.

✏️ What you can edit yourself

By clicking Edit, you access the Content screen, organized by language. Depending on the type of challenge (individual, collective, race...), you'll find all or some of the following elements:

🎨 Editable elements
βœ… The visuals (main image, logo, color)
βœ… The title and description of the challenge; by language
βœ… The objective name shown to participants, and its value when the challenge allows it
βœ… The available languages for this content

πŸ”’ What remains managed by the United Heroes team

⚠️ These elements are set by our team when the challenge is created. If you'd like to change them, contact our team:

  • The start and end dates
  • the segmentation (targeting of teams or users),
  • the promotion ("Promote")
  • and the challenge conditions (for example whether daily steps are allowed) are not editable from this screen

🌍 Run an automatic translation

If your challenge only exists in one language, you can automatically generate its content in other languages instead of retranslating everything by hand.

  1. From the Content screen, click Automatic translation at the bottom of the left-hand column.
  2. Make sure your base language content is complete before starting the translation: the more complete it is, the more reliable the translation will be.
  3. Choose your base language, the one your content is already written in.
  4. THEN choose one or more target languages from the list (you can also tick All languages).
  5. Click Save to start the translation.

πŸ’‘ Good to know
Don't relaunch the same translation several times, and don't leave the page while it's loading. You can also add a language manually via Add a language, if you'd rather write the content yourself in each language.
